Press Release:
The Neo-Kalashnikovs - NZ TOUR 2014
Supported by Force Fields & New Hang Ups

Forcefields (WGTN) and The Neo-Kalashnikovs (AKL) plan to decimate the North Island’s main centres;
Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington in May (NZ music month). They aim to build local buzz around their
new singles “Zeroing” & “Treat Me Right”.

The tour came about from a chance encounter online. The bands have never met so it will either be a
saucy first-date or perhaps a steamy love affair, who knows? There might be a shotgun wedding in
Auckland, a motel honeymoon in Hamilton or an expensive divorce in Wellington. What’s going to
happen in Palmy is anyones guess? One thing is for sure though both bands mean business!

With Forcefield’s solid live reputation in Wellington and The Neos heavy radio play on Hauraki FM
this is a tour for NZ rock fans nationwide. From the angsty student to the tough-nut tradey and all
those uptight brain surgeons in between ‘we will rock you!’ With brain-splattering bass, face searing
guitars & soul wrenching vocals they’ve got you bro!

Tickets available on the door for just $10 and $15 with your very own signed CD

Tour Dates:
Friday May 2nd - Tabac, Auckland
Saturday May 3rd - Altitude Bar, Hamilton
Friday May 16th - The Royal, Palmy
Saturday May 17th - Bodega, Wellington

Video Premier: The Neo-Kalashnikovs - Sean Bailey VS Mac Donalds

The Neos - Protest time!

Sean Bailey was a young McDonalds worker who was unfairly dismissed by his employer. The reason for his unjust dismissal was due to the fact that Sean found out and helped expose the corruption of McDonalds not giving legally untitled breaks and not paying their employees what they were legally entitled to be paid.

Millions of dollars is still outstanding to all workers who have been denied their PAID breaks. The protest also sought to address workers being fired for placing an extra piece of cheese on a burger! Not many people know about these issues due to the active suppressing by the mainstream media. It is not uncommon for NZ Mac Donald’s employees to work
for 10 hours without a break! The Neos were out to support UNITE UNION as they protested with Sean against corporate exploitation of young
people and others in New Zealand!

We are really stoked to be part of the first issue for 2014
Rock On Ireland
The Neos

The Neo-Kalashnikovs were stoked to be a part of the TV2 2014 rebrand.

The Director and crew were super nice. The camera man was really talented. Apparently the camera was shooting at 1000 frames a second and I can tell you it was a hefty piece of hardware. The lighting man on set was from the Hobbit and he did an awesome job. On set it was kind of free form and we were more or less left to jam in the garage, that is until a giant explosion went off and shot littles “2’s” everywhere! :)

On the take that TV2 kept Volita almost got her leg blown off and fell over. The look of rock angst is actually pure pain haha. But every aspect of the shoot was pure fun. Moss also screwed up the slow-motion cymbal shot hence there’s no cymbal shot haha. Our stylist was Lisa Matson at http://www.lisamatson.co really helped fine tune Volita’s outfit and was brilliant to work with :) Moss on the other hand was given the o.k from the director straight away in his own clothes that he specifically chose. Bass player Gabriel is wearing a “Cage the Elephant” t-shirt. The song was stock production music from Sony/ATV. Hopefully the band gets the o.k from the director next time to use our own song. During our performance in front of the cameras the band were playing “Take It Or Leave It”: http://youtu.be/EQjLY1PqNC4

Hey Rockers
Here is our latest music video “Blue Lithium”;
http://themossrock.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/premier-neo-kalashnikovs-blue-lithium.html
To fill you in after filming the “Gorgeous Baby” video I dropped into Dublin, Ireland. Well Dolphin Barn to be exact were our family rock out. The thing I love most about Dublin has to be the Guinness, there’s just nothing like a Guinness in Dublin lol. The statute of my hero Phil Lynott the lead singer and bass player of Thin Lizzy is also a highlight in the heart of the city. The video “Blue Lithium” was shot and directed by our youngest niece Tallulah Davey and styled by Bella Davey.

The recording is really indie and raw. I guess thats what happens when you record in an ex-gambling facility with a microphone and a pre-amp. The video is inspired by the economic turmoil in Ireland. Especially the issues of rising prices and living costs faced by the people in their struggle against the banks. We really hope things turn around in Dublin because the city is truly breath taking and the people even more so.

Buy “Blue Lithium” here for 1 EURO or the whole “Take it Or Leave It” E.P for 2 EUROs
